In 1992, the founder of Gemstone was on a mission to create a vineyard that defied uniformity. A place where the unconventional wasn't just welcomed but celebrated in every block, clone, and vine. After years of searching, and leaning on his expertise in geology, he found a perfect place to realize this dream: a prime 16-acre plot in Yountville on alluvial deposits.
From the very beginning, the founder saw a hidden gem — a place of possibility waiting to be transformed. The vineyard was christened Gemstone to reflect the care and intention they knew this plot was worthy of.
